Both european and japanese feudalsim had political structure, social structure, and honor code. They were different in how they treated women and legal arrangement. Europe had almost a contract feudalism where as japan's feudalism was an arrangement based soley on group identity and loyalty. Feudalism in japan and europe was based on culture which made the system stay around for a long time.
